Sector: Blue Marine Economy, Renewable Energy, Power Distribution and Seafood Commodity Export
Business Activity: Construction of an offshore fish processing zone and solar mini grid for procurement and export of wild black tiger prawns from Nigeria to EU, US and Asia in partnership with Atlantic Shrimpers Limited. Power Distribution to Ilaje Community through solar grid charging stations and solar portable power generators in collaboration with Rural Electrification Agency.
Status: Carbon54 has obtained its Aquatic Quarantine facility license (ARQ/QFL/CO-84) from Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) and approval on our processing zone and cold storage design that will be powered by a newly constructed solar mini grid jointly funded by Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency and a Carbon54 led consortium (consortium includes Sunwoda Electronic Company Limited, China Energy Engineering Corporation Group and Sinomach)
Project Goals & Expectations
There are on-going consultations to design and implement a program for upskilling ilaje artisanal fishermen and certifying ISPMAN products as export worthy for EU and Asian market. This will be achieved by constructing a certified offshore solar powered fish processing and cold storage facility in Ahoye area of Ilaje fishing community in Ondo State. The Floating mini grid, energy storage systems, solar portable power generators and solar charging stations will provide ample electricity to power the facility and provide Grid and off-grid power to the Ilaje fishing community.
It is our desire to also tap into the tourism potential of this sector to attract tourists and attract investment to build a solar powered mini resort (Maldives Style) based on fishing and Blue Marine based activities.

Requirements for success
NGN207,000,000.00 for the construction and equipping of 100-ton capacity offshore fish processing and cold storage facility. Floating solar mini grid, charging stations and portable power generators to be funded by REA, World Bank and Africa Development Bank (AFDB) funding.
